En calidad de presidenta de la Comisión de Asuntos Internacionales de la Conferencia Nacional de Gobernadores (Conago), la gobernadora Pavlovich presidió una reunión con Marcelo Ebrad, titular de la Secretaría de Relaciones Exteriores (SRE) de México, donde subrayó que la migración es un fenómeno que se presenta en todo el mundo, y en México se está atendiendo con un trabajo coordinado.

En el encuentro en el que participaron gobernadores de ocho entidades de la frontera sur y norte, los mandatarios estatales recibieron un informe por parte del titular de la SRE, en el que se detalla que, gracias a las acciones implementadas conjuntamente, se logró una disminución del 64 por ciento en el flujo de detección de migrantes bajo detención por parte del Customs and Border Protection (Oficina de Aduanas y Protección Fronteriza de Estados Unidos).

Este informe señala que en mayo de 2019, cuando se registró un repunte en la migración, en la frontera sur de los Estados Unidos se registró la detención de 144 mil 255 personas, mientras que en septiembre de este mismo año bajó hasta 52 mil.

La gobernadora Pavlovich, en representación de los gobernadores de Oaxaca, Querétaro, Durango, Chiahuahua, Tlaxcala, Hidalgo y Baja California, presentes en la reunión, reconoció el esfuerzo del Gobierno Federal por trabajar en equipo con las entidades para atender el tema migratorio, con respeto a los derechos humanos de quienes transitan por el país, sin dejar de lado la agenda de los ciudadanos.

En la reunión los gobernadores hicieron planteamientos en materia de migración, respecto a la salud, seguridad pública, educación, derechos humanos y derechos laborales.

Producto de esta reunión se acordó que la primera semana de diciembre habrá un encuentro entre los gobiernos estatales y dependencias federales, para fortalecer programas, políticas públicas, fondos y presupuestos encaminados a los temas de migrantes.
