Sonora se mantiene a la vanguardia en materia de acceso a la tecnología de internet y la conectividad de sus habitantes, pues actualmente el 71.7 de los hogares en la entidad cuentan con acceso a la red de redes, mientras que Hermosillo es la ciudad más conectada del país con el 85.4% de sus habitantes con conectividad desde sus hogares, dio a conocer el Instituto Nacional de Estadística y Geografía (Inegi) con motivo del día mundial de internet.

HERMOSILLO, Son.- El INEGI resaltó que Sonora está muy por encima de la media nacional que es de 47% y que Ciudad Obregón se mantiene en una posición muy avanzada al disponer de esa tecnología el 64.6% de los hogares.

En cuanto a usuarios totales, el Inegi también destacó el caso de Hermosillo con 84.9% de sus habitantes que se conectan de manera cotidiana, mientras que Ciudad Obregón reportó un 72.5%; el promedio nacional es de 59.5%.

Otro aspecto destacado fue el del volumen de usuarios de telefonía celular, que es la principal vía de conexión a internet en México pues alcanza el 87% de la población, mientras que el promedio nacional es del 73%.

El Inegi hizo un esfuerzo para entregar información relativa al uso de la red de internet, señalado que el 88.9% de las personas la utilizan para comunicarse, el 84.5% para obtener infotmación y el 80% para entretenimiento mientras que el 75.8% de los usuarios se conectan para acceder a redes sociales.

Entre algunos datos que destacan, está el hecho de que el 59.5% de la población del país de 6 o más años manifestó utilizar internet, además de que el 68.5% de los cibernautas tienen menos de 35 años.
