En Mesa Arizona se instalará el proyecto “SkyBridge” un concepto de centro de carga y logística a fin de establecer en la zona urbana de Phoenix el primer hub especializado en carga y comercio electrónico que operará con un criterio binacional a fin de agilizar el comercio internacional entre México y los Estados Unidos.

PHOENIX, AZ.- El concepto fue presentado este fin de semana por el gobernador de Arizona, Doug Ducey, quien enfatizó que se trata de una inversión privada de 230 millones de dólares en donde se realizarán operaciones de manejo de carga tanto en volúmenes gigantes, como en lo que se envía finalmente los domicilios de los compradores, con la ventaja de que ahí mismo en el Aeropuerto “Phoenix-Mesa Gateway” se realizarán las inspecciones de aduanas por parte de agentes fiscales que las validarán para México y los Estados Unidos.
El gobernador Ducey recalcó que se trata de una salida para reforzar el comercio con México y hacer de Arizona el primer hub especializado en manejo de carga para estar listos ante el aumento del comercio electrónico, industria que está en auge en su país.
Explicó que se trata de una inversión privada, enfocada al desarrollo del comercio electrónico que se hará en esa ciudad conurbada a la capital de Arizona, favoreciendo el comercio internacional y generando alrededor de 17 mil empleos directos.
El mandatario de Arizona enfatizó que más allá de la relación de vecinos y los estrechos lazos culturales y familiares hay que ver por el enlace económico en un año que luce complejo para la región.
De acuerdo con el gobernador de Arizona el impacto de “SkyBridge” será un paso para impulsar operaciones de alto nivel en el manejo de carga y mercancías que impulsará el desarrollo de Arizona y el noroeste de México, con un impacto favorable a Sonora, en el enfoque de la Megarregión, pues atraerá inversiones de grandes empresas dedicadas al comercio electrónico a la zona.
“El enfoque es impulsar la relación de negocios con México y por eso SkyBridge tendrá capacidad de hacer inspecciones en las mercancías para que desde Mesa se hagan las inspecciones de aduana para fomentar y agilizar el comercio internacional y en particular nuestro principal cliente y socio que es México hacia el sur”, recalcó.
Glenn Hamer, presidente de la Cámara de Comercio e Industria de Arizona, ante cuyos socios se presentó “SkyBridge”, informó que las inspecciones de aduanas que se harán ahí serán válidas para ambos países, lo que agilizará los procesos de importación y exportación en ambos sentidos y que la meta principal es precisamente facilitar el intercambio comercial entre Arizona y México, lo que implica que muchas operaciones se harán a través de Sonora.

Hamer recordó que el área donde se establecerán las instalaciones de SkyBridge se ubica en Mesa, Arizona, un suburbio de la ciudad de Phoenix que se ubica apenas a 45 kilómetros del centro de la capital arizonense a 400 kilómetros de la frontera con Sonora.

“Con SkyBridge lo que tendremos son revisiones de aduana de oficiales de México y Estados Unidos haciéndose de manera simultánea de modo que los embarques irán directo desde Arizona a cualquier destino en ambos países”, resaltó.

Hamer dijo también que esto va a reducir los tiempos de envío de manera dramática y que se podrán importar productos para canalizarlos a los mercados de Estados Unidos o bien hacer la operación a la inversa e introducir productos de todo el vecino país del norte hacia México.

Recalcó que el asunto es que el comercio electrónico ya es una realidad y está en auge, de modo que disponer de una facilidad como la que se preve en Arizona, traerá beneficios fuertes a lo que hoy se conoce la “Megarregión Sonora-Arizona”, que ganará en competitividad, además de que el enfoque contribuirá a modernizar los términos del Tratado de Libre Comercio.
