La diputada del Grupo Parlamentario de MORENA, Alicia Gaytán Sánchez, presentó la iniciativa de decreto que adiciona la fracción III al artículo 15 de la Ley de Adultos Mayores de Sonora, con el objeto de que las personas de edad avanzada reciban atención médica sin costo en los servicios de salud del Estado, aún sin ser derechohabientes.

La legisladora por el III distrito explicó que toda persona tiene derecho a la protección durante su ancianidad y el no contar o carecer de servicios de salud provocan que sean más propensas a complicaciones en su condición física.

“La atención médica de urgencia brindada con oportunidad puede marcar la diferencia entre la vida y la muerte, debe ser garantizada tanto a la población derechohabiente de los servicios de salud del sector público como a quienes no reciban esa garantía para hacer realidad así el cumplimiento del precepto contenido en el artículo cuarto de la Constitución Política de los Estados Unidos Mexicanos, el cual determina que toda persona tiene derecho a la protección de la salud”, comentó.

Gaytán Sánchez mencionó que es necesario invertir en la formación de capital humano especializado en la atención de la población mayor de 60 años; en investigación geriátrica y gerontológica, y en materia de preparación para la vejez de los sectores más jóvenes de la población, de manera que se pueda asegurar la suficiencia de servicios en el mediano plazo, además de contar con elementos científicos que permitan una mejor planeación estatal, y se promueva la responsabilidad individual sobre el propio proceso de envejecimiento y sus consecuencias.

Indicó que según datos de la Comisión Nacional de los Derechos Humanos (CNDH), el país experimenta un proceso de envejecimiento poblacional que en los próximos treinta años cambiará radicalmente su composición sociodemográfica lo que representa importantes retos para nuestro país, por lo que se deben crear las condiciones de vida idóneas que contribuyan al desarrollo pleno de las personas mayores.

La presente iniciativa fue turnada a la Comisión de Justicia y Derechos Humanos para su análisis y dictaminación.
