El presidente Andrés Manuel López Obrador comprometió que lanzará un plan integral de ataque al feminicidio y para combatir la violencia contra las mujeres, pues señaló que se trata de un problema muy doloroso y preocupante.

El jefe del poder ejecutivo federal recalcó que la incidencia de asesinatos en general con promedios de 80 por día, es un asunto que le tiene preocupado y que su gobierno trabaja para reducir la incidencia, aunque resaltó que frenar la violencia hacia las mujeres y hacia los niños es un asunto prioritario.

También acotó que está por lanzarse un Programa de protección de derechos humanos y atención a víctimas, pero que en particular se busca reducir la violencia y en particular los homicidios contra mujeres, que son muchos, según manifestó.

López Obrador reiteró que se trabaja en varias líneas y que en especial en el tema de la violencia se trabaja en combatir las cosas y en perseguir a los criminales.“Si logramos que mejoren las condiciones de vida y de trabajo, que haya empleo e ingresos y si se detiene el grave problema de la desintegración familiar, porque el neoliberalismo destruyó familias, podremos abatir esos problemas”, declaró.

El presidente dijo que se rompieron familias y dado que la familia es la institución de seguridad social más importante en el país, esa situación ha propiciado múltiples problemas.

“Eso lo tendremos que arreglar y con eso crearemos condiciones para bajar la delincuencia, porque las cárceles están llenas de jóvenes y la mayoría de quienes pierden la vida son jóvenes”, resaltó.

El presidente se refirió al crecimiento del consumo de droga como un tema preocupante, porque una cosa es el tráfico y otra cosa lo que ha crecido el consumo en una sociedad que no tenía esos hábitos.

    Caudwell told The Standard that there are already more than 600
    prospective buyers on a waiting list of billionaires and centi-millionaires
    who have expressed an interest in making a purchase at the scheme.

    There will be just 24 ‘principal residences’ in the property including lateral apartments, penthouses
    and townhouses with up to five bedrooms, and five more smaller ‘pieds-à-terre’ apartments.

    The designs were led by New York based architect Robert Stern and practice

    Analysts expect the dollar to remain firm as Trump’s policies are expected to drive up U.S.
    inflation, but they believe Beijing will prevent the
    yuan from falling too much. «We anticipate some depreciation pressure in an expected strong dollar environment,» Lynn Song, Greater China chief
    economist at ING, said in a note.

    However, «we don’t expect an intentional large-scale depreciation and think the yuan will remain a low-volatility currency vis-à-vis most other Asian currencies.» The yuan was changing hands at 7.2549
    per dollar around midday, little moved from the previous close.

    Although the currency has rebounded from a one-year low of 7.2996 hit
    on Tuesday, it is poised to register its longest weekly losing streak since 2018.

    The dollar index fell to one-week low overnight and «the USD’s consolidation should unwind the upside pressure building» in the
    yuan, aided by ongoing attempts by China’s central bank to restrain its decline, said Alvin Tan, strategist at RBC Capital Markets.

    Recent data has painted a mixed picture of China’s economic recovery, with manufacturing activities improving, but property sales in many Chinese cities remaining weak.
    China’s «economic landscape is unarguably dull, and the absence of excitement is perhaps the most salient feature,» said John Browning, managing director of BANDS Financial.

    He doesn’t expect huge stimulus to be announced during next week’s Central Economic Work Conference, as «Beijing’s largesse will be reserved until after Trump is restored to the White House and the trade war formally begins.» Top policymakers will gather
    at the conference to agree on major economic goals for next
    year.

    But the target for 2025 growth, one of the most closely-watched indicators globally for clues of Beijing’s near-term policy intentions, likely will
    not be officially announced until an annual parliament meeting in March.

    During Trump’s first term as president, the yuan weakened about 5% against the dollar
    after the initial round of U.S.
    tariffs on Chinese goods in 2018, and fell another 1.5% a year later when trade tensions
    escalated. Growth worries and expectations of further monetary easing by Beijing pushed China’s
    10-year treasury yields below 2% to record lows this week, worsening the yield disadvantage against the U.S., and exerting downward pressure on the yuan. ING’s Song expects the onshore yuan to move
    within a band between 7.00-7.40 per dollar, but could

  36. LONDON, Sept 28 (Reuters) – Philip Morris International (PMI) on Thursday signalled a slower
    than anticipated U.S. roll out of its IQOS heated tobacco device,
    a choice analysts said was positive for its competitors
    in the short term.

    The New York-listed Marlboro maker also said it aims for more than two
    thirds of its net revenues to come from «smoke-free» products by
    2030, up from 50% in 2025, as it tries to transform its image from a cigarette purveyor to a
    driver of the shift to healthier alternatives.

    Investors have been closely watching IQOS’ entry into the U.S., the world’s
    largest market for nicotine products, and had been expecting it from May 2024 next year.
    Reuters reported on Wednesday that PMI is hiring lobbyists across a
    host of key U.S. states ahead of the launch.

    Chief Executive Jacek Olczak said IQOS would launch in four cities
    in two unnamed U.S. states from 2024, but a national launch would only come after PMI receives approval to sell the
    latest version, known as IQOS ILUMA.

    The company was planning to apply for approval in October
    and expected it from 2025, he continued.

    «We need to warm up the tyres,» he said of the initial launch, which would help PMI fine tune its approach.

    A national roll-out of ILUMA would follow but in phases,
    he continued, adding launching in 10 states in the first year would make sense.

    Meaningful traction for PMI’s heated tobacco products in the U.S.
    «now looks delayed until ILUMA,» Owen Bennett,
    equity analyst at Jefferies, said in a note, adding this was
    a positive for PMI’s rivals.

    Olczak also signalled that PMI’s push into non-nicotine products was no longer
    a priority. It recently scrapped an ambition for $1 billion in net revenues to come
    from sales of such products by 2025.

    Instead, PMI will focus its resources on IQOS and nicotine pouch brand
    ZYN, Olczak said, adding it had been too optimistic around acceptance of big tobacco companies operating outside of nicotine.

    PMI also announced updated medium-term targets
    including for revenue and earnings per share,
    and ambitious volume targets for IQOS and ZYN.

    ZYN and other oral nicotine products in the U.S.
    would help drive an expected $2 billion in revenues there
    in 2024, even before IQOS ILUMA, executives said.
