Para generar conciencia en las personas sobre el papel que juegan las aves en la ecología, y preservar su entorno, la Comisión de Ecología y Desarrollo Sustentable del Estado de Sonora (Cedes), celebró la quinta edición del Festival Sonorense de Aves, en el que participaron investigadores de la Universidad de Sonora.

Beatriz Rodríguez Grijalva, encargada del área de educación ambiental del Centro Ecológico, explicó que durante los días 23 y 24 de noviembre se celebra este festival, en el cual se ofrecen pláticas sobre tipos de nidos, aves rapaces, aves urbanas, taller de observación de aves entre otros.

“Estamos en coordinación con la Universidad de Sonora, la escuela de biología, y los diferentes clubs que ellos manejan, sobre todo el de ornitología, es para dar a conocer las aves que tenemos aquí en nuestro estado, y la importancia de ellas, la importancia ecológica que tienen como dispersoras de semilla, son como indicadores del buen ambiente que hay en estas áreas”, señaló.

Alf Meling López, investigador de la Universidad de Sonora, mencionó que es importante impartir educación ecológica en este tipo de festivales, ya que inculcan en las personas el cuidado al medio ambiente y a sus especies.

“Es sumamente importante porque ya ves el problema que tenemos, las ciudades se expanden, la gente a veces está descontrolada en cuestión de ecología, no sabe cómo comportarse, va al campo y arranca plantas, agarra animales, o los mata, y disminuye la población de plantas y animales, especialmente las aves”, indicó.

En este festival se abordaron temas relacionados con el águila calva, las aves de Hermosillo, pájaros invasores y el correcaminos.
