El gobierno de Estados Unidos decidió ampliar el punto de entrada de San Luis, Arizona, en busca de disponer de mayor capacidad ante la saturación del cruce fronterizo por un aumento de usuarios desde San luis Río Colorado.
En este proyecto se invertirán 6 millones de dólares, en una obra que será ejecutada por al empresa de Mesa, Arizona, Concord General Contracting, anunció la Administración de Servicios Generales de ese país.
El plan es agregar espacio y capacidad a las actuales instalaciones del puerto terrestre, lo que expandirá las instalaciones que utiliza el departamento de seguridad nacional y protección fronteriza.
El objetivo es mejorar los procesos de cruce de peatones, pero también dar mayor agilidad al cruce de mercancías desde y hacia México rumbo a Arizona.
El proyecto que recién arrancó, será concluido en octubre del 2018, e incluirá mayor área para el procesamiento de las personas que buscan cruzar, además de nuevas oficinas y espacios para el público.
