La Luna estará ocupada durante febrero, ya que la veremos visitar a varios inquilinos del vecindario espacial como Venus, Júpiter y Saturno, además de una cita muy especial con el Sol en un eclipse anular.

26 de febrero – Eclipse anular

Los afortunados observadores en una estrecha franja del Hemisferio Sur tendrán oportunidad de ver un eclipse de “anillo de fuego”. También llamado eclipse solar anular, este acontecimiento impactante ocurre cuando el disco de la luna es demasiado pequeño para cubrir por completo al sol, por lo que vemos un anillo de luz solar alrededor de la silueta lunar oscura.

El camino del eclipse iniciará en Chile, continuará a través de la Patagonia Argentina, en donde el eclipse durará solamente un minuto. Después pasará por Angola, para terminar en Zambia y la República Democrática del Congo al atardecer.

26 de febrero – Trío estelar: Marte y Venus cerca de Urano

Después de que oscurezca, se podrá observar a Marte arriba de Venus al suroeste del cielo nocturno y a tan sólo medio grado a la izquierda de Marte, podrás ver a Urano como un pequeño punto verde brillante.

Uruano está 10 veces más lejos de la Tierra que Marte, sin embargo podrá ser visible sin algún instrumento en un sitio sin luz, aunque es recomendable ubicarlo con binoculares o telescopio para admirarlo mucho mejor.

Anota en tu agenda, febrero será un mes ocupado.
